Our group focuses on research, development and implementation of advanced digital signal processing algorithms, mainly in the fields of adaptive control and audio processing. We build on our experience with statistics, namely with the Bayesian approach to system identification and modeling, as well as the relevant fields of linear algebra.

Our target platforms are Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Digital Signal Processors (DSPs). We use Matlab/Simulink to specify, model and verify algorithms that we later convert and synthesize to HW. As such specialized solutions are likely to be used in embedded systems, we also research features that result in extremely fast execution, use small amount of memory, small chip area or low power consumption. We achieve this both through designing new or modifying existing DSP algorithms, and using architectural properties such as dynamic reconfiguration of FPGAs...

Successful industrial collaboration within the Arrowhead Tools project

Our department collaborates with Arcelik, one of Europe’s largest producers and suppliers of household electrical products. In order to efficiently automate the testing process at Arcelik we develop a giga-sample data acquisition system serving as a smart oscilloscope that is capable of analyzing what it is measuring and sending the analyzed data securely to an Eclipse Arrowhead cloud.

STM32H753 Terminal device on Nucleo44 board ext. with Xilinx Zynq7000 family Arduino

In the frame of WakeMeUP project, our group developed STM32H753 device based terminal extended with Xilinx Zynq 7000 family Arduino compatible shield. The terminal works with 32bit Debian OS with support for the Xilinx SDSoC 2018.2 compiler for generation of HW IPs from C functions. UrbanSmartPark Final Event - live demonstrations and conference 9 and 16 December 2020

The USP project consortium wants to share and open their project results to the public. You can see live demonstration of automated on-street parking and services in harbor area in Hamburg 9 December 2020 from 9:00 - 16:00 hours. Everybody is welcome to join without registration.
